Nieuwmarkt

Photographer

Jacob Olie

Date

1890

Description

A view of the market on the Nieuwmarkt, seen from the Waag towards the Sint Antoniesbreestraat. At no. 19 (far left) a trade in colonial goods, next to it a furniture warehouse, the butcher's shop of H.J. Mulder, a shop in ribbons, flowers and feathers and on the other side the liquor store of B.C. Albex Jr. The three houses on the far left don't stand anymore, they were replaced in 1927 with the iconic building "Flesseman".
